Richard Ostrow

For over a decade, I’ve dedicated myself to the art of fine woodworking, building custom furniture through my company, Artefact Decor, based in Repentigny, Québec. What began as a simple passion for working with wood evolved into a full-time pursuit of craftsmanship, producing one-of-a-kind pieces that combine function, beauty, and a deep respect for traditional techniques.

Each piece I create is handmade from start to finish, using carefully selected wood species such as walnut, maple, oak, and pine. I work closely with the natural character of the wood—its grain, tone, and texture—allowing it to guide the design. No two pieces are ever the same. Whether it’s a dining table, a console, or a sculptural accent, every item is crafted to tell its own story.

What truly sets my work apart is my commitment to finish quality. I believe that the tactile experience is just as important as the visual. My pieces are meticulously sanded and finished to an exceptionally high standard—silky smooth to the touch and built to last for generations.

My craftsmanship isn’t just about building furniture—it’s about creating heirlooms, respecting the material, and celebrating the unique beauty found in every slab of wood.
