Véronique Martel
Ceramist
Born in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and having lived in James Bay, Véronique studied in bioecology and in biomedical analysis techniques in Sherbrooke before studying at the Bonsecours ceramic center in 2015. Her atypical and multidisciplinary training allows her to create ceramics on a very personal angle. Although she uses the pottery wheel, hand molding is her favorite technique. To develop new techniques and push her personal limits is in the center of her practice. She favors natural and soft colors as well as organic shapes. The spontaneity of her gesture and the exploration of new glazes, textures and shapes allow her to honor the wild beauty of the Abitibi boreal forest.
