Biography of the artist
I was born on Montreal in 1959. In ’79 I obtained my college diploma in Aesthetic of presentation (theatre and window decor) from the Cégep du Vieux Montréal. I worked for 20 years as an interior designer. During these years, I travelled a lot and I took classes in visual arts at l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). I experimented with sculpture and different mediums: paper retained my attention.
Artistic approach
I focus my practice on my passion: the survival and protection of the plant and animal world. My sculptures are either a tribute to underline the precariousness or resilience of a specie or its complex relationship with humans. My intent is to catalyse a sense of urgency and concern for the loss of natural habitats. I hope that their presence in people’s home will bring awareness to their plight.
